Employment sustainability

Disability: ASD and psychosocial, Age: 50, Sex: Male, Name: RH

Support/Assistance: For the past 3 years I have supported RH with managing his employment alongside gov. funded disability employment services. My role and support has been an advocate, a stakeholder, a mental health coach and all-round team player to assist RH’s core goal of sustaining employment and managing relationships with people.

RH has also been supported by his support workers through a marriage separation with assistance with emotional regulation strategies, lengthy searching for new affordable housing, moving house and major health concerns navigation with Qld health.

RH now has new goals, new living location and a new job (RH acquired this himself without support of an employment agency) in his new area to save on travel times and fuel costs.

RH is currently looking at developing new friendships and hobby groups in his local community.

“Walk alongside someone” for years is an honour and an amazing experience to see them achieve outcomes that strived for and that they have chosen.
