Inclusive Fishing Social Group for Individuals with Disabilities

Our fishing social group is designed to provide an inclusive and engaging experience for individuals living with a disability, offering a safe and supportive environment to enjoy the outdoors, connect with others, and develop fishing skills. We host fishing activities across various locations on the Gold Coast, carefully selecting spots based on weather conditions, tides, fish species, and individual mobility needs.

At the heart of our program is adaptability—we tailor each session to suit the preferences and goals of participants. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced angler wanting to refine your skills, we work with you to ensure a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. Participants can choose their preferred fishing style, whether using lures or bait, and select target fish species based on their interests.

Beyond fishing, our group provides a fantastic opportunity to build social connections, boost confidence, and improve well-being in a relaxed and nature-filled setting. Our experienced support team is dedicated to ensuring accessibility, safety, and a rewarding experience for all.

Respite & Getaways

At Reel Supports, we offer tailored respite and getaway experiences for individuals accessing the NDIS, providing a refreshing break from daily routines while fostering independence, social connections, and personal growth. Our respite trips are designed to align with each participant's needs and interests, whether it's a relaxing time away, an outdoor adventure, or a fun-filled trip to explore new surroundings.

Our skilled support workers ensure a safe, engaging, and enjoyable experience, helping individuals build confidence, develop life skills, and create meaningful memories. Whether you’re looking for a short local escape or an extended getaway, Reel Supports is here to provide a supportive and empowering respite experiences that prioritises your well-being.

Our respite adventure trips offer participants the opportunity to explore stunning local destinations while enjoying a supportive and enriching experience. Popular getaway locations include K’gari (Fraser Island), Moreton Island, and North Stradbroke Island, where participants can immerse themselves in coastal beauty, outdoor activities, and relaxation.

For those who enjoy freshwater and nature-based experiences, we also venture to Lake Monduran (barramundi) for fishing and scenic retreats, as well as Northern NSW’s breathtaking rainforest and river systems for exploration and adventure. These trips provide a perfect balance of leisure, skill-building, and social engagement, all tailored to meet individual needs and preferences.

STA funding is not always in everyone’s NDIS plans. We offer budget getaways (hourly rate) where we can go camping and view cheaper accommodation options for people wishing to be supported on a down to earth recharge/respite trip away.
